Nina had a baby!

Writer: Kalahari Wildlife ProjectKalahari Wildlife Project

In August, Nina, a mature female pangolin was brought into the Kalahari Wildlife Project to be rehabilitated after she was rescued from the illegal trade market. Nina was pregnant at the time of her rescue and throughout her rehabilitation process, we kept a close eye on her and the pregnancy.

Nina was released at a secure and private reserve in the Northern Cape that was approved by the Department of Nature Conservation.Upon our last check-up with her, we were thrilled to see a healthy and happy little pangolin pup. Nina is still being tracked and we can see that she is successfully nursing this pup. A big thank you to all involved in this rescue and rehabilitation.
